Confessions regarding Overcoming Anger

I must be slow to anger.

I must also be quick to listen and slow to speak.

I will be slow to anger.

I will be quick to listen.

I will be slow to speak. (James 1:19)

I will not be so foolish as to get annoyed. (Proverbs 12:16)

It takes great understanding to be slow to anger. I lift up my voice for this understanding. I will not have a hasty temper, so as to exalt folly. (Proverbs 14:29; 2:1-4)

Anger is a work of the flesh. But I belong to Jesus and have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
